Experience Salzburg
Three reasons why Salzburg is unique.

1. Old Town & Mirabell Garden
Take a walk through the Mirabell Gardens and check out the fountain from The Sound of Music and the fortress behind it, where the civil wedding will also take place in 2019. Then follow the road to Getriedegasse or Linzergasse and stroll through the local shops. Sit down for a drink at Wein&Co or Stein Terrace and then buy a fro-yo from Fabi's Frozen Yoghurt.

2. Traditional brewery inn
Visit Augustinerbrau for a traditional Austrian beer experience. Pay for your beer, take a measure and rinse it out at the fresh water taps. Then get in line to meet the brewmaster's standards. Sit outside in the beer garden or in one of the restaurants and visit the takeaways to eat a pretzel or another snack.

3. Hohen Salzburg Fortress
Take the funicular to the castle in the center of Salzburg's old town. Once at the top, you'll find a museum, a restaurant and a nice walk. Experience a bit of history and then eat one of the best Kaiserschmarns in Salzburg at the restaurant.

4. Domquartier/Mozart Birthplace & Tomaselli
Take the funicular to the castle in the center of Salzburg's old town. Once at the top, you'll find a museum, a restaurant and a nice walk. Experience a bit of history and then eat one of the best Kaiserschmarns in Salzburg at the restaurant.

5. Hellbrunn
Hellbrunn is a few minutes outside the city, where you can discover the castle, the park and the water games, a real “source” of joy, and not just for children. The landscaped gardens alone are worth a visit, while the famous pavilion from “The Sound of Music” is the absolute highlight for many. And don't forget to pack a picnic basket full of delicious snacks!

6th Sound of Music Bicycle/Bus Tour
If you want to join one of the local “Sound of Music” tours — which are extremely popular with visitors to the city — you'll also visit many of the places listed here. You can choose between a bike or bus tour (on a nice summer day, the bike version would be perfect, of course). You will be able to “check off” the *marked attractions and many more on one of these tours. Leopoldskron Castle is worth a visit in itself — another picturesque sight here in Salzburg. Funny fact: Only a few locals have even seen “The Sound of Music,” so you might get questioning looks at you if you suddenly start singing “The hills are alive...” during a conversation.
